Famous Americanactor, Alec Baldwin, accidentally fired a fire used as property. The incident killed a crew member who was a cinematographer and injured the film’s director.
The tragic event occurred in New Mexico, USA, which was the filming location of the film “Rust” on Thursday (10/21/2021) local time. In the film, Baldwin is the lead double as a producer.
“Halyna Hutchins and Joel Souza were shot when a firearm was fired by Alce Baldwin,” the sheriff in Santa Fe said in a statement.
Hutchins, a cinematographer, was taken to a University of New Mexico hospital by helicopter. But his life could not be helped because of the injuries he suffered. The director was rushed to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center by ambulance for medical treatment.

The Santa Fe Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident by dispatching officers to the scene around 2 p.m. Earlier someone called 911 to report the incident.

According to investigators, it is known that the filming scene uses a firearm property that is being installed. Local authorities are investigating the type of bullet and how the projectile was released. No charges have been filed against Alec Baldwin.
“He gave a statement and answered their questions. He arrived voluntarily and left the building after the interview. No charges have been filed and no arrests have been made,” said Juan Rios, a spokesman for the Santa Fe Sheriff’ Court.

Friday, entertainment news site Deadline quoted a source from the Sheriff’s office as saying Baldwin was questioned by officers. Shortly thereafter he was released.
Movie sets generally have strict rules regarding the use of property firearms, but some previous accidents have also occurred. One of the most memorable was the incident that happened to Brandon Lee.
