Ludacris was born Christopher Brian Bridges on September 11, 1977 in Champaign, Illinois. She is the only child of Roberta Shields and Wayne Brian Bridges. Bridges is of African-American, British, and Native American descent. Ludacris still has a distant cousin relationship with the late Richard Pryor, a comedian.

Ludacris and his family’s childhood was spent moving from one area to another. While in high school, he moved to the Chicago area and attended Emerson Middle School then went on to Oak Park & Forest High School for a year. It wasn’t until she moved back to the Centerville, Virginia area and for a year she attended Centerville High School. After that, he graduated in 1995 after moving to the Atlanta, Georgia area and attending Banneker High School.
