In recent years, dozens of K-Pop group names have enlivened the music industry. However, it can only be counted fingers that still survive to this day. The retreat of idols was motivated by various reasons, even girls group that successfully attracted the attention of the public chose to disband.

Before disbanding, the Girls Group called Wonder Girls had been experiencing a golden age for 10 years. Jyp Entertainment's idol group debuted in early 2007. The song titled "Tell Me" was the beginning of the popularity of Sunye and his friends.
Wonder Girls officially disbanded on January 26, 2017, with the last single "Thank You For Being So Wonderful". Before disbanding, the group reshuffled members several times.
Initially, Wonder Girls debuted with 5 members, Sunye, Sohee, Hyuna, Sunmi, and Yeeun. In the same year, Hyuna left the group due to health problems. Later, Yubin joined as a replacement.
In 2020, hyerim trainees joined to replace Sunmi who left to continue his academic studies. At the end of 2013, Sohee decided not to renew his contract. Meanwhile, Sunye ended his contract at the end of 2014 to focus on planning a wedding.
Comeback in 2015, Sunmi rejoined and Wonder Girls changed the formation of the 4-member band until it disbanded.
DSP Media debuted Rainbow on November 3, 2009. The girls group consists of 7 people including Jae Kyung Go, Go Woo Ri, Choi Hyun Young, Kim Ji Sook, No Eul, Oh Seung Ah, and Jung Hyun Hye.
In 2012, Rainbow formed a Rainbow Pixie sub-unit consisting of Seung Ah, Ji Sook, and Hyun Young. One year later, Rainbow Blaxx's second sub-unit with members Sueng Ah, Hyun Young, Jae Kyung, and Woo Ri.
During her career, Rainbow has won several awards such as Cyworld Digital Music Awards 2007: Rookie of the Month, 12th Korean Video Daejun's Awards 2011: Most Photogenic of the Year, 26th Golden Disk Awards 2012: Hallyu Icon Award, and 7th Asia Model Awards 2012: New Star Award.
Unfortunately, DSP Media announced that Rainbow officially ended its idol activities on October 27, 2016.
Nine Muses is a girls group formed by Star Empire Entertainment that carries the concept of graduation. This means that members will continue to change. Initially, the agency selected 14 talented members.
The final lineup that debuted as Nine Muses include Hyun A, Rana, Bini, Lee Sem, Eunji, Sera, Euarin, Hyemi, and Minha. Most of the members have model backgrounds, some of whom were still active in the modeling world when debuting as idols.
In 2012, the addition of new members Kyung Ri and Sung Ah. During the period between 2012 – 2015, Rainbow lost Lee Sem, Eunji, Sera, Euarin, Minha, and Hyuna.
Despite repeated reshuffles, the nine muses song has always been accepted by music lovers and has become the most popular group in South Korea.
After experiencing many member changes, Nine Muses finally left 4 members standing before disbanding on February 10, 2019.
Pascal Entertainment debuted a girls group consisting of Ga Young, Jeon Yul, Lee Sul, and Jo A. Early in their careers, Stellar was not immediately popular. Singles titled "Rocket Girl" and "UFO" are not very popular on the market. This caused Lee Seul and Jo A to leave.
Minhee and Hyoeun join forces to replace vacant members. Stellar's name became popular after the release of a song called "Study".
Ambitious to increase the artist's fame, the agency overhauled the cute image to sexy. However, the single "Marionette" was not warmly welcomed because the concept was too vulgar. Especially at that time, there are members who are only entering 20 years old.
Finally, Stellar came back with a girlie concept on the song "Sting". However, the single is less popular. This keeps the agency from maintaining a sexy image, even if the members refuse.
Stellar's dissolution in 2018 was caused by a conflict between members and agencies. Because, they continue to be forced to appear with sexy images.
Girls Group Gu9udan officially debuted in 2016 with members Jung Mimi, Hana, Han Hae Bin, Kim Na Young, Kim Se Jeong, Sally, Soyee, Kang Mina, and Cho Hye Yeon. This group is very popular because Na Young, Se Jeong, and Mina were first known through Produce 101 Season 1.
Indeed gu9udan's official Instargram account still shows the activities of the members. However, there is no hint that the girls group will soon make a comeback.
At the end of 2020, fans were outraged by an official statement from Jellyfish Entertainment. The agency announced that Gu9udan was no longer active as an idol group. Each member will focus on solo careers.
Of course Jellyfish Entertainment's decision to disband Gu9udan was unfortunate for fans.
In mid-2019, Pledis Entertainment attracted the attention of fans with the release of its girl group, Pristin. Nayoung, Kyulkung, Roa, Yuha, Eunwoo, Rena, Yehana, Sungyeon, Xiyeon, and Kyla are no longer active as idols since May 24, 2019.
Having a large number of fans even on a global scale, the agency that oversees it is considered incompetent to take care of the artists. Because, all members have tremendous potential and talent. They are able to compete in the South Korean music industry.
Not only that, all pristin members showed their talents through Produce 101 Season 1. Although only Nayoung and Kulkyung escaped, the other members actually had a hidden piece of talent. Evident from the singles "Wee Woo" and "Wee Like" is still widely played to this day.
