Friends star James Michael Tyler dies at home from cancer

Friends star James Michael Tyler died at his home in Los Angeles on Sunday morning. Gunther in the legendary sitcom has died at the age of 59.

As quoted by E! Online, the manager said Tayler died after battling prostate cancer.

“The world recognized him as Gunther from the popular series Friends. But her loved ones recognized her as an actor, musician, cancer awareness advocate and loving husband.

“Michael is survived by his wife, Jennifer Carno, the love of his life who was always together in beautiful circumstances, sick and forever.”

James Michael Tyler has revealed his health. In an interview in June 2021, he revealed he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer since September 2018.

“I was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer that had spread to my bones,” he said.

“I’ve been dealing with that for almost three years, it’s stage 4. Terminal cancer. So at the end of the day, you know, it’s probably going to get me,” he said.

He said he missed the check and it wasn’t a good thing.

“This cancer decides to mutate when it’s pandemic and it develops,” says James Michael Tyler.

Friends: The Reunion aired on HBO. When the cast of the series appeared on the show, Tyler was unable to join in person, he only joined via Zoom. This is the first official chance to reunite with the stars of Friends.

“It was the most rewarding 10 years of my life, I can’t imagine a better experience than that. They are all fantastic and happy to work with them. It feels special.”

In the series, Tyler plays gunther, a coffee shop worker named Central Perk. He harbored feelings for Rachel Green, played by Jennifer Aniston, for years.

On the departure of one of the stars who is also a member of his family, Friends expressed sorrow over the passing of James Michael Tyler.

“Warmer Bros. Television mourns the passing of James Michael Tyler, our beloved actor and part of our Friends family,” @friends wrote on Instagram.

“Our prayers are with family, colleagues, colleagues and fans,” which concluded with a heart emoji and a cup of coffee.

After the series ended in 2004, Tyler starred in Scrubs. Then in 2012 he was reunited with Matt LeBlack who played Joey in Friends, on the sitcom Episodes.
