Spider-Man: No Way Home (NWH) is the fourth Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film to open in 2021. Although it only aired a few weeks ago, NWH can reap a fantastic amount of money!
The film that has been eagerly awaited by fans is exploding in the market thanks to qualified marketing techniques from the collaboration of Disney and Sony. Long before the screening of this film, leaks have circulated on the internet that make fans more hype and look forward to the film.
Spider-Man:No Way Home has dominated the box office since its worldwide premiere. Now, how much money does NWH earn?
Data From The Hollywood Reporter, Monday (20/12/2021), showed NWH grossed 253 million US dollars or about Rp 3.6 trillion, only from American theaters alone during the first week of its screening. This figure is indeed lower than the other two MCU films, Avangers: Endgame ($357 million) and Avangers: Infinity War ($257 million).

But keep in mind that Spider-Man: No Way Home is airing in the midst of a pandemic, where there are not many theaters that are not yet operational. Venom: Let There Be Carnage’s October was the highest-grossing film to be released during the pandemic with a total of $90 million.
While outside the U.S., NWH recorded revenue of 334.2 US dollars or around Rp 4.8 trillion. This means that the total revenue of this film reached 587.2 million US dollars or equivalent to Rp 8.4 trillion. This is a fantastic achievement considering that the current Omicron variant is also horrendous to the world and again forcing some cinemas to close.
Here are the five biggest-grossing films in their first week of U.S. release.
1. Avengers: Endgame ($357 million)
2. Avengers: Infinity War ($257 million)
3. Spider-Man: No Way Home ($253 million)
4. Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($247 million)
5. Star Wars: The Last Jedi ($220 million)
