TUDUM Netflix 2022 Highlights: 10 Most Anticipated New Originals

Last weekend (25/9) Netflix held a special TUDUM Global Event to announce their release agenda until 2023. From sequel movies, the return of new seasons of their popular series, and the latest Netflix Original with exciting sneak peaks. The event was live streamed on Netflix’s Youtube account, hosted by actor Jamie Foxx. The archive is also available on the Netflix platform for those of you who missed it and want to catch up on the latest Netflix Original line-up.

Since the event was quite large and contained so many announcements that we might not all be looking forward to, here is a special summary of the TUDUM Global Event. Some titles are already confirmed for release this year, but there are also some popular franchises that we still have to wait for the exact date. Here’s a roundup of the latest Netflix Original announcements and what series/movies are coming back with new stories.

1. Enola Holmes 2

Release date: November 4, 2022

For Millie Bobby Brown fans, the Netflix a-list actress will soon be back with “Enola Holmes 2”. Follow the new adventures of Enola Holmes who is now trying her luck by opening her own detective agency. He also wanted to be part of the great Holmes family like his brother, Sherlock Holmes with his prestige as the best detective in London. This time around, it looks like we’ll be seeing quite a bit of Henry Cavill as Sherlock and Helena Bonham Carter as Enola’s mom, both of whom don’t see much action alongside our main stars.

2. Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery

Release date: 2022

“Knives Out” is an iconic crime mystery movie first released in 2019. ‘Glass Onion’ is a sequel to the universe of detective Benoit Blanc who this time gets a new mystery to solve. Still starring Daniel Craig, other big Hollywood names are also joining to enliven ‘Glass Out’ which will be released on Netflix later this year (date still unconfirmed). Starting from Ethan Hawke, Edward Norton, Janelle Monae, Dave Bautista, and Kathryn Hahn. In the sneak peak that premiered in TUDUM, Florence Pugh also appeared as one of the surprise cast members.

This time we will follow the adventures of detective Benoit Blanc in all the reunion parties. Where all guests are invited to solve the murder of the person who invited them.

3. The Crown Season 5

Release date: November 9, 2022

Talking about the British royal family is never boring. Experiencing success after success in each of its seasons, “The Crown” is set to return with its much-anticipated new season in November 2022. Continuing the timeline from the previous season, the marriage and divorce scandal of Lady Diana and Prince Charles will be the highlight of this season. The actors of the following seasons have also retired, replaced with new ones. Imelda Staunton will be the new Queen Elizabeth, while last season’s phenomenal Lady Diana role by Emma Corrin is being replaced by Elizabeth Debicki.

Wednesday Addams is the first child of the Addams family who is the most popular in pop culture from time to time. This eccentric character also caught the attention of eccentric director, Tim Burton, to create a new Netflix Original series, “Wednesday”. The much-awaited mystery series will finally be released on Netflix on Wednesday, November 23, 2022. Starring Jenna Ortega, she will continue Wednesday’s legacy as a bitchy, sardonic, and dangerous female character. After being expelled from a public school where she had trouble socializing with normal children, Wednesday was sent to a school for outcasts like her, Nevermore Academy.

5. The Watcher

October wouldn’t be October without a new Netflix Original in the horror genre. In addition to several titles that have already been announced, “The Watcher” is the latest Netflix Original in the horror genre that will accompany us in October. “The Watcher” is a series based on a true story, about a house called ‘The Watcher’ in New Jersey, USA. It tells the story of a couple who move to a new house in New Jersey with their children. But shortly after moving in, the family received threatening letters and real-life terror sequences by a mysterious party calling themselves ‘The Watcher’.

6. Alice in Borderland Season 2

“Alice in Borderland” is a Netflix series that had a successful first season and will finally be back with a new season this year! For those of us who have been following since the previous season, we know that Arisu’s adventure with the other players is not over yet. “The School for Good and Evil” is a fantasy movie based on the popular novel of the same name. It tells the story of two friends, Sophie and Agatha, who are kidnapped to attend a school for the education of good and evil. A school in a fantasy land that educates children to become heroes and villains, to maintain the balance between good and evil in the world. Sophie and Agatha’s friendship goes through a crisis when they enter different classes.

8. The Witcher: Blood of Origin

“The Witcher” is one of Netflix’s successful fantasy series and will soon enter its third season. Before we see Geralt’s adventures continue, later this year we will be presented with the series that originated the Witcher. “The Witcher: Blood of Origin” is the latest Netflix Original that we can watch in December 2022.

9. They Cloned Tyrone

“They Cloned Tyrone” is the latest Netflix Original movie in the comedy science fiction mystery genre. Starring Jamie Foxx, we will follow the investigation of a trio of black characters who want to uncover a government conspiracy. The movie has vibes like “BlacKkKlansman” (2018) and “Sorry to Bother You” (2018).
