In the Egyptian Book of Remedies, it is noted that in the time of Cleopatra, aloe vera has been used as a cosmetic ingredient for beauty, namely as a skin moisturizer. Meanwhile, its use in the pharmaceutical field was first carried out by the Samaritans around 1750 BC.
Aloe vera is thought to have entered Indonesia around the 17th century, which was brought by a farmer of Chinese descent. Nevertheless, the utilization of this medicinal plant in Indonesia is still small, only limited as an ornamental plant in the yard. As an ornamental plant, this plant does look beautiful because of the uniqueness of its thick prickly leaves and its yellow to orange floral pattern. The commercial use of aloe vera as a new beverage ingredient began in 1990, by farmers in West Kalimantan.

Aloe vera plants are known to have many benefits and properties, such as anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and cell regeneration. In addition, it serves to lower blood sugar levels for diabetics, control blood pressure, stimulate the body’s immunity against cancer attacks, and can be used as a supporting nutrient for people with HIV.
