Vitamins For COVID-19

Vitamins are one of the important things in the recovery process of patients exposed to Corona virus. In addition to boosting the immunity needed to fight viruses in the body, vitamins also contain antioxidants that help cure and prevent inflammation.

There are several vitamins recommended for COVID-19 patients. Unlike medicines that can only be obtained by prescription, vitamins can be purchased freely.

“allowed (purchased) vitamins only. Others (medicines) should be prescribed by a doctor,” said Agus Dwi Susanto, Chairman of the Indonesian Lung Doctors Association, as quoted from CNNIndonesia, Saturday (03/07/2021).

Vitamins For COVID-19 Patients Without Symptoms

Vitamin C with options:

  • Non acidic Vitamin C 500mg/6-8 hrs, for 14 days
  • Vitamin C suction tablets 500 mg/12 h, for 30 days
  • Multivitamins containing Vitamin C 1-2 tablets/24 hours, for 30 days
  • Recommended multivitamins with vitamin content of B, C, E and Zinc

Vitamin D with options:

  • Supplement 400 IU-1000 IU daily
  • 1000-5000 drugs daily

Vitamins For Patients With Mild Symptoms

Vitamin C with options:

Vitamins For COVID-19 Moderate Symptoms

For COVID-19 patients with moderate symptoms, vitamins are given through intavena because generally patients with moderate symptoms have pneumonia and receive hospital treatment.

Vitamins For COVID-19 Patients Severe Or Critical Symptoms

COVID-19 patients who experience severe symptoms or are in critical condition require intensive hospital treatment. Vitamins are administered intravenously and adapted to a doctor’s prescription. In addition to vitamins for COVID-19, the medicines consumed must also be in accordance with the doctor’s prescription. Medicines prescribed by doctors will be given in accordance with the COVID-19 Governance Guidelines that have been distributed to all doctors in Indonesia.
