Understanding Shio and 12 Shio in Chinese Calendar

In Chinese astrology, there are twelve animals used to symbolize a person’s year, month and time of birth. This Chinese zodiac concept is referred to as Shio. The twelve (12) animals that make up the 12Shio are emblematic of the twelve branches of the earth combined with five elements (metal, water, wood, fire and soil) to form a 60-year period.
