President Jokowi Orders Investigation into The Crash of Sriwijaya Air SJ 182

President Joko Widodo has called on the National Transportation Safety Committee to conduct an investigation into the crash of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 flight on the Jakarta- Pontianak route in the waters of the Thousand Islands. Sriwijaya Air flight SJ- 182, which was loaded with 62 people, was found missing on Saturday at 14.14pm. 40 P.M.

“I have also delivered to KNKT to carry out studies and investigations into this disaster,” explained Jokowi in a Press Teleconference, Bogor Presidential Palace, Sunday ( 10 / 1).

He said that the incident he knew after obtaining a report from the Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi. He has also instructed the Minister of Transportation, Head of the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), the Indonesian National Army (TNI) to the National Police to quickly carry out search and rescue operations to the victims.

“We make the best efforts to create and save the victims and we pray together, we pray together so that the victims can be found,” he said.

Not to be out remembered, Jokowi also brought deep sorrow to the events that hit 62 people on a Boeing 737-500 type aircraft. Among them were 56 passengers and 6 crew members.

“I on behalf of the government and all Indonesians express my deep condolences for the disaster,” he concluded.
