- THE BEGINNING OF THE SCANDAL
The problem started when Boris was found to be present at a big party in 2020 when all Britons were not allowed to leave their homes due to the lockdown. In the midst of an emergency, Boris and his wife instead attended parties and drank wine. The incident also made the people urge him to withdraw immediately, but Boris behaved indifferently.
- ALLEGEDLY MISAPPROPRIATED MONEY FOR PERSONAL PURPOSES
As if not afraid of the case that happened to him, Boris was again reported to have misappropriated people’s money. He used IDR 2 billion to renovate his apartment in Downing Street in May 2021.
Although he admitted that he got money from his colleague who is also a British politician, David Brownlow, but this backfired on him because he was considered to have received gratuities.
- CASES OF HARASSMENT IN HIS CABINET
The scandal in Boris Johnson’s government is back. Former British lawmaker Imran Ahmad Khan was convicted of abusing a 15-year-old boy in 2021. He was later sentenced to 18 years since May 2022.
Not only that, one of the MPs, Neil Parish, also resigned from his post after claiming to have been caught watching pornographic videos at the parliamentary office.
Most recently, the Deputy Chairman of the British Conservative Party’s Monitoring Council, Chris Pincher, reportedly sexually assaulted two men at a club. This adds to the long list of the worst scandals during the British government.

As a result of Johnson’s behavior, one by one his ministers also resigned from their respective positions.
These include School Minister Robin Walker, Economy Minister at the Ministry of Finance John Glen and Environment Minister Jo Churchill. To date, 44 ministers have submitted their resignations.
- RUMORED TO BE THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES
Amid the heated situation of the British government, Boris Johnson is rumored to be one of the potential replacements for Joe Biden. This is corroborated by a survey conducted by one of the democratic institutes in the US.
Boris is said to have held US citizenship before relinquishing him for being elected Prime Minister of the UNITED KINGDOM. This also further muddies the atmosphere of the British government.
- BORIS JOHNSON INSISTS HE WILL NOT BACK DOWN
Boris opposed the urge to step down, stressing that he would fight any attempt to remove him from the post of prime minister.
“I’m not going to back down and the last thing this country needs, frankly, is a general election,” he said before a parliamentary committee.
Johnson said he holds the mandate of the 2019 Elections and will not give up his duties amid a situation of cost of living crisis and war in Europe.
