Chelsea fans will recognize several of the names in Group B at the World Cup in Qatar. Five active club players are engaged in three different countries. England is represented by Raheem Sterling, Mason Mount, and Conor Gallagher, while the United States and Wales are represented by Christian Pulisic and Ethan Ampadu, respectively.

Apart from that, there are a few individuals that have piqued the Blues’ attention and might be coming at Stamford Bridge in 2023. Midfielders Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham are two obvious English names, both of whom have been linked to the club since 2020.

Bellingham’s performance alongside Mount as a rampaging No.8 in England’s creative 4-3-3 formation against Iran demonstrated why he has piqued the curiosity of Europe’s top hitters since joining Borussia Dortmund.

Pulisic’s American partner Antonee Robinson is a lesser-known gem who drew plaudits in the first round of games. In Monday’s 1-1 with Wales, the Fulham left-back impressed down the wing. The 25-year-old has performed well for the west London club this season, as well as in their recent promotion from the Championship.

Robinson, a mainstay for the US under Gregg Berhalter, will want to stun Gareth Southgate’s England on Friday night at the Al Bayt Stadium in a critical group-stage match.

Sergino Dest is another American full-back linked to Chelsea from Barcelona in the past. Dest faced Chelsea twice in the Champions League last month for AC Milan after joining the Serie A team on loan in the summer. Dest was mentioned as a possible transfer target after Ben Chilwell’s cruciate ligament injury in January.
