Lighting and a storm have halted play at the Australian PGA Championship

The Australian PGA Championship at Royal Queensland was abruptly called to a halt by an approaching storm over Brisbane.

On day four, the final groupings were getting close to the turn when a siren could be heard all around the course.

Fortunately, the alarm went off just a few seconds after Jason Scrivener started his round, even though his ball still found its way into a bunker behind the green.

On Nine and 9NOW, you can watch every moment of the 2022 Australian PGA Championship.

The course had to be immediately cleared of players, and officials did their best to lead spectators away to safety.

In what is shaping as a tantalizing tournament finish, Scrivener is pursuing golfer Cameron Smith, the No. 3 player in the world.

Smith had a three-shot advantage at the end of day three, but it had shrunk to one shot following Sunday’s front nine.
