Olympic Medal Winner Eko Yuli Irawan Makes Proud

Eko Yuli Irawan took home a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The people of Indonesia give the highest appreciation, pride and touch. Eko records a history that will always be remembered as a legend in the country.

This was Eko’s 4th appearance at the Olympics and always won a medal. In total, he collected 2 bronzes and 2 silvers.

Eko Yuli Irawan’s Apology

Not getting there, netizens were amazed by the incident Eko Yuli apologized for his failure to get gold. Competing in the 61 kg class of weightlifting cabor men, Eko recorded a total force of 302 kg. Previously, the first medal was won by Windy’s daughter lifter Cantika Aisah in the 49 kg class. Windy managed to contribute a bronze medal.

After the match at the Tokyo International Forum, Sunday (7/25/2021), Eko Yuli Irawan conducted an interview with Erick Thohir as the IOC (International Olympic Committee).

From a live broadcast aired by one of the private TV stations, Eko opened the conversation with an apology for not being able to bring home the gold medal.

“I’m sorry, it’s still this,” Eko said.

Erick Thohir cut off Yuli’s words because he felt it was inappropriate for a champion to say an apology.

“No ( do not apologize ), it is important that you are consistent and challenge yourself. I appreciate and salute you, you are okay from in London first and then the Asian Games and now,” said Erick Thohir.

“Next year there are still Asian Games, keep the spirit yes,” he continued.

Erick continued, that Eko Yuli Irawan deserves to be called a legend. Eko himself has won 4 Olympic medals since the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

“Eko is a legend, he’s great, he’s won four medals in all his Olympics,” Erick said.
