Tornado Touches Down Near Chicago Area

Multiple tornadoes were verified by the National Weather Service in the Chicago region on Wednesday evening. Among these tornadoes was one that touched down at O’Hare International Airport.

During the day, the NWS issued an urgent advisory for Cook County residents to promptly find shelter due to the presence of a “large and extremely dangerous” tornado observed near Summit.

Although it remains uncertain if it was a distinct storm, reports of tornado damage were received from nearby areas such as Bridgeview and Stickney.

Additionally, the NWS confirmed tornado sightings in South Elgin and Campton Hills in Kane County before a tornado was spotted near O’Hare International Airport.
