Shah Rukh Khan makes his third appearance on screen in 2023 with “Dunki,” directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The film centers around the illegal practice of Donkey Flight, used for entering countries like Canada, the UK, and the United States. The scheduled release date for Shah Rukh Khan’s “Dunki” is December 21, 2023. The film credits Rajkumar Hirani, Abhijat Joshi, and Kanika Dhillon as its writers.

The narrative of “Dunki” unfolds in Laltu, a village where Hardy (portrayed by Shah Rukh Khan), alongside friends Sukhi (Vicky Kaushal) and Mannu (Taapsee Pannu), undergoes English language training in pursuit of their immigration dreams. However, their legal efforts falter, compelling Hardy to embark on an illicit journey, ultimately shot while crossing borders. The storyline progresses 25 years ahead, with Shah Rukh Khan’s character narrating his past from the village.
