Nicki Minaj Returns to MTV: Hosting VMA 2023 and World Debut Performance

Date:

Nicki Minaj is gearing up for a triumphant return to the MTV stage, reprising her dual role as the host and performer for the “VMA” LIVE 2023 event at the Prudential Center in New Jersey on Tuesday (12/09).

“VMA” 2023 will air on September 13 on MTV UK and Pluto TV [pre-show at 9 PM followed by the main event at 10:30 PM] and on Paramount+ on September 19.

For the second consecutive year, Minaj will announce the star-studded lineup of artists, presenters, and event winners and will surprise fans with the world debut performance of her latest single, “Last Time I Saw You.”

Last year’s six-time “VMA” winner led the event as a host, performer, recipient of the “Best Hip Hop” award, and the coveted Video Vanguard Award.

Minaj boasts an impressive 25 “VMA” nominations, including six this year. Once again, she’s nominated for “Best Hip Hop,” a category she first won 12 years ago and three more times thereafter (2015, 2018, 2022).

This year, her five additional nominations include the highly sought-after categories of “Video of the Year” and “Artist of the Year.”

Her additional Moon Person victories include her ongoing success in the “Best Hip Hop” category, securing wins for “Anaconda” (2015) and “Chun-Li” (2018). In 2012, she also received the “Best Female Video” award for “Starships” and later in 2019, the award for “Best Power Anthem” (“Hot Girl Summer”).
