Itzy is a South Korean girl group with five members and was formed by JYP Entertainment. The band, which has been based since September 11, 2019, consists of Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryoung and Yuna. Here’s 5 Itzy Profiles.

PROFILE ITZY MEMBER

Although fairly new, the girl band managed to attract the attention of the public and fans of world music with its performance. Not only did they entertain, but they also managed to achieve achievements with various awards. Here is a profile of the five Itzy personnel.

1. ITZY YEJI

Yeji has the real name Hwang Ye-Ji born on May 6, 2000 who is a vocal member. Previously he had an internship in 2015 then in 2018 he Yeji joined sbs realistic competition television series The Fan, but had to die in the 5th episode.

2. ITZY LIA

Choi Ji-su is the real name of Lia. He was born on July 21, 2000 in South Korea and was one of the vocal members of the band. He is also an alumnus of the Seoul School of Performing Arts and previously interned at SM Entertainment.

3. RYUJIN ITZY

Ryujin is a South Korean girl born on April 17, 2001. She is a member of the girl group JYP Entertainment, and has other skills as a rapper. Ryujin was first announced as a member of Itzy on January 20 and then debuted on February 12.

4. CHAERYEONG

Lee Chae-ryeong was born on June 5, 2001 and is a South Korean dancer and singer who has been signed to JYP Entertainment. She was also announced as a member of the girl group on January 20, 2019 after previously also participating in jyp entertainment’s reality girl competition television series Sixteen.

5. YUNA ITZY

Yuna was born on December 9, 2003 in Gyeonggi, South Korea. He is a vocal group who attended Hanlim Multi Art School. Although he was the youngest, his skill in singing was able to support his team quite popular to various parts of the world.

As for the single album that has been released is It’z Different on February 12, 2019 and dalla dalla song that managed to chart the choice. Besides, there is another single called Want It? which was also released in the same year.

ITZY AWARD

Although the journey is still very new, the band won an award on the music program M Countdown on February 21, 2019 with the song Dalla Dalla. As well as awards on the Show! Music Core on February 23, 2019 with the song Dalla Dalla.

DEBUT WITH IT’Z DIFFERENT AND IT’Z ICY

The single It’z Different was released on February 11, 2019 with the lead single by Dalla Dalla. The song was created by combining elements of the EDM sub genre such as future house and bass house. With the song, they scored one of Billboard’s biggest debuts for the new K-pop act in years. Dalla Dalla’s single also reached number 3 and peaked at number 2 on the world digital song sales chart.

As for Want It? it was released in conjunction with Dalla Dalla’s single and reached its debut at number 8 which sold 1000 downloads. Not only that, Dalla Dalla’s song has also become the second most popular song on Youtube.

According to Billboard’s confirmation, the music video surpassed 17.1 million views within 24 hours of its release. It became the new record broken for K-pop’s most-watched debut music video in the 24 hours after it aired.

Still in a happy atmosphere, Itzy was again surprised by his victory on their first music show program, M Countdown. They were also the fastest to win the first music show award. On the other hand Dalla Dalla also set a new record as the fastest K-pop debut music video to reach 100 million views.

POST-DEBUT ACHIEVEMENTS AND SUCCESSES

It’z Icy’s debut MINI album was released on July 29, 2019 along with the music video for the first single titled Icy. Then on September 22, 2019 JYPE announced the tour showcase for the group under the title Itzy Premiere Showcase Tour.

The tour began in Jakarta on November 2, 2019 and continued to various cities in The Asian country throughout the end of 2019 to then head to the United States for five shows in January 2020.

Still about Dalla Dalla’s success, the single has surpassed 100 million streams on the Gaon Music Chart and became her group’s first platinum certification. It was also the first debut song from the K-pop group to be certified platinum by the Korean Music Content Association (KMCA) since the introduction of certification in April 2018.

The song also to number 8 on Dazed’s List of The Best 20 K-pop Song of 2019. Dalla Dalla and Icy became the most popular music videos in South Korea with numbers 2 and 7, respectively.

At the end of 2019 some of its personnel were recognized as Best New Female Artist Awards including at melon music award 2019 and Mnet Asian Music Awards 2019.
