Prince Harry immediately returned to the United States after attending the Coronation of King Charles III at Westminster Abbey, London, Saturday (6/5/2023).
According to the New York Post, according to a source, Prince Harry was on his way to the airport to return to California in time for his son Archie’s fourth birthday party.
Harry – who looked sad and lonely at King Charles III’s coronation – had spent less than 24 hours in England when he arrived on a commercial flight late Friday.
He spent the night at Frogmore Cottage, despite being kicked out earlier this year by Charles so the house could belong to his own brother, Prince Andrew.
The Duke of Sussex arrived for King Charles’s coronation at Westminster Abbey alone, without wife Meghan Markle.
It was the first time he saw his father since he released his shocking memoir, “Spare,” in January.
Harry arrived with his cousins, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. He appeared to be ignored several times during the coronation ceremony of King Charles III.
During the ceremony, Harry sat in the third row beside Eugenie’s husband, Jack Brooksbank, and Princess Alexandra.
First row seats are reserved for full-time working royals, including his brother Prince William and wife Kate Middleton.
Harry was seen flashing a few smiles as he sat down, though he was hindered by the giant feather on Princess Anne’s hat.
After much speculation, Buckingham Palace announced in April that Prince Harry would attend his father’s coronation even without Markle and their two children.
“Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey on 6 May,” a spokesperson said.
“The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.”
The Duke’s absence at the family celebrations after the coronation of King Charles III underscored the deep gulf between the Sussexes and other members of the royal family.
Sources on both sides indicate that the relationship between Prince Harry and Prince William, in particular, is at a low point. The two brothers did not speak for months.
