Supermodel Gigi Hadid has become the center of public discussion following her recent arrest for drug possession at Owen Roberts International Airport while on vacation in the Cayman Islands on July 10th. The renowned model has finally spoken out regarding the incident.
Gigi Hadid and her friend arrived at the airport on a private plane when Customs officials conducted a search of their luggage, uncovering a small quantity of marijuana. According to local media outlet Cayman Marl Road, Gigi Hadid was detained on suspicion of importing marijuana and importing equipment for marijuana consumption. They were then taken to the Detention Centre and subsequently released on bail.
On Wednesday (July 12th), Gigi Hadid and her friend were officially charged in court and pleaded guilty, resulting in both of them being fined USD 1,000 or approximately IDR 15 million, as confirmed by a spokesperson from the Cayman Islands Customs and Border Control.
“Gigi was traveling with marijuana that was legally purchased in NYC with a medical license,”.
“Furthermore, medical use of marijuana has been legal in Grand Cayman since 2017. Her record remains clean, and she is enjoying her remaining time on the island,” the representative added.
After going through the legal process, Gigi Hadid was seen posting vacation photos on her Instagram on Tuesday (July 18th). The 28-year-old model appeared to be thoroughly enjoying her time by the pool.

In the caption of her post, Gigi Hadid seemed to address the incident subtly, saying, “Everything’s fine and ended well.”
This statement came following her recent Instagram posts of vacation photos. In one of the pictures shared last week, the model was seen posing in a bikini while sitting on a sun lounger and displaying a dragon tattoo near her thigh.
